Not all dispensaries are created equal — and Embarc Redwood City proved it. Shout-out to Alex at the front desk, who might as well hold a PhD in customer service. I first stopped by during Embarc’s 12 Days of “High for the Holiday” promo, where punch extracts were 50% off. By pure luck (and good timing), I stumbled in during a Sunday lunch special on December 14, where Tier 4 Punch extract was going for $20 out the door — a once-a-year extravaganza every stoner (and their mother) would happily cherry-pick from. Naturally, I rushed over to upgrade my holiday stash. I was told that with a Green Leaf card, I could purchase 6g or more due to the quantity limit. I happily complied, found the fastest card online… and in my excitement, bought the wrong one. What I wasn’t told initially was that it needed to be specifically MMIC-issued to qualify. Long story short, I thought I was out $35 due to a simple miscommunication — until I came back the next day. That’s when Alex absolutely redeemed the entire experience. Without deflecting blame or making excuses, Alex honored the original 12/14 discount, took full accountability for the clerical oversight, and handled everything with compassion, professionalism, and grace. I was genuinely floored. You don’t expect “royal treatment” at a dispensary — but that’s exactly what I received. And to overcorrect the experience? Alex went above and beyond by gifting me a cold-cure artisanal cart for $1. That’s not customer service — that’s customer care. I left the dispensary on cloud nine — literally and figuratively — with my faith in humanity slightly restored by a small but meaningful gesture. When I returned the following day, David kept the good vibes rolling. Super chill, easygoing, and knowledgeable. We chopped it up for a few minutes before checkout and ended up in a genuinely thought-provoking conversation about CBD, terpenes, and the entourage effect. It felt less like a transaction and more like a kickback with the homies. The crew at Embarc are connoisseurs first, and it shows. It’s refreshing to walk into a dispensary and feel like you’re chillen with people who actually care about the plant, the science, and the experience. I recently stopped smoking completely and switch to edibles and pill tablets. Not only was the staff knowledgeable about all the products they carried. They help me with advice from their own personal transition and based on my tolerance was how I determined what I bought. After being a day one customer supporter since they opened I was banned “for being rude”. All I did was ask the front desk guy why he ask me “have you been here before” every single time I come in. When I go to Flor , Airfield or MMD it’s always “welcome back” so I was feeling a bit unwelcome and brought it up to staff, they said it’s policy and sold me my cart anyway but when I came back a couple days later I was banned. And I only found out when I showed up to pick up online order . WTF!? Support the other dispensaries these people don’t care about their patients or recreational customers. Plus security guard is always outside texting not even paying attention so just be careful. – KRIS A

This cannabis club is the first in Redwood city and has always been known to be friendly euphoric with great deals in town. The people in this facility are nothing but awesome Their hospitality is 100% noticeable and it goes above and beyond every time. every security guard has always greeted me and told me to have a good day. On my way out. It makes me proud and happy to go to the shop and spend my money. I’m very thankful to have such an awesome cannabis store down the street.
