The Cake House San Jose Cannabis Dispensary

Nothing less than five stars for me I actually wish I can give them more. Congratulations for their one year anniversary today. The gift bags are enormous and they are so kind each and every time this is a whole experience you must try. I love the cake house shout out to Jill. I came to pick up my order only to find out there was an error outside of their control and there was a HUGE price difference than what I had ordered online. One of the people at the register, Daniel, was kind enough to still help me out with my order and Nate was the person that ended up honoring my actual order price. There was no hassle at all and it definitely made me a loyal customer to this place! Aside from this mishap, I always come here for the amazing prices and products but this particular transaction showed me how much they care about customer satisfaction. I’ve been here a few times and honestly the prices are great. We come here because my wife uses their products for anxiety. But this last visit was frustrating. I was denied entry because my teenage kids were sitting in the car. The employee told me it was due to San Jose law. That didn’t sound right, so I actually called the San Jose Police Department to verify. I typically have my kids when I shop so I don't want to break any rules. They confirmed there is no law that prohibits minors from being in a vehicle in the parking lot of a dispensary. What the law actually says under San Jose Municipal Code Chapter 6.88 is: • Section 6.88.440.G – No person under 21 is allowed inside the dispensary location • Section 6.88.440.H – The business must verify the age of every person entering the premises (SJPD confirmed premise is inside doors and not property lines) • Section 6.88.440.P – Cannabis cannot be consumed on the premises or in the parking area There is nothing in the ordinance that says minors cannot be in a private vehicle in the parking lot. So to be clear: My kids were not entering the store They were not left unsafely They were simply sitting in the car After calling the store, I was even told to “ask ChatGPT” because they didn’t know the rule themselves. At this point, it seems like this is not a law, but a store policy that employees may not fully understand or are incorrectly presenting as law. If it’s your policy, that’s fine, but don’t misrepresent it as city law. Just wanted to share so others don’t run into the same issue. – Nick C

It’s clear that this is one of the best dispensaries even by looking at the reviews either people love them or hate them, but I am on the Love side! This dispensary is by far the best in the area they take their product serious and their service is the best. Only the best of the best come here they are well trusted – Judy Rutherford
