We came in here by making a wrong turn haha and it wad a really great find! Reece was super helpful and friendly, and he helped us with some great recommendations! Yes the place looks decent. Much better than the former owners. As far as value goes, and bang for your buck, you can do much better just about anywhere else. I'm used to going to a store by the name of "Natural Remedies" just a few blocks away. I did not know that they close at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday nights, I thought it was the standard 10:00 p.m. Well, that is definitely where I'm going in the future. You see, I'm not used to paying double for low grade flower and dried out, rapid burn pre-rolls. The staff on duty are friendly-ish but who isn't. I paid $20 for 10 pre-rolled 1/2 gram joints at 27% THC. Really poor judgment on my part. Once I got home and opened the pack, my heart dropped. These are the tiniest, sorriest little dried out pre-rolls you've ever seen. To make it worse,everything is packed into units of five and wrapped in plastic. Even the exterior packaging was unattractive. I didn't feel good when I was handed the product and I was deeply disappointed after sampling the product. I might as well have just driven by Smooth Roots at 50 mph and thrown a crumpled $20 bill at the building as I drove by. Just don't make the same mistake that I did. There are much better deals around town and they are much more deserving of your business. I literally just paid twice the amount for half of the same product. That would be like paying $7 a gallon for gas rather than $3.50. And the kicker is, it's the same gas everybody else is selling. Nothing special, nothing "better". I know the owner Reese reads these reviews. My name is Joseph Rook and I will not be back to your store sir. Just down the street, at Natural Remedies, I get 10 hand rolled, individually packaged, 1 gram, $2 pre-rolls at 24.5% THC for $20. And they are definitely quality products. And what's better, they come individually sealed in their own atmosphere. Not like the small cardboard and plastic little pre-rolls that I bought from Smooth Roots. I would like to go in and speak to the owner to discuss my disappointment but I know exactly where that's going to go. I'm sure Reese would just look at me with apologetic eyes and let me know that he's sorry that I'm not happy. But that's all I would get. Well I can't smoke his apologies. In the future, I'm going to Natural Remedies. The place is half the size and doesn't look anywhere near as good but you get twice the product and it's fresh. Because they're hungry and they know that being reasonable will win the race. The guy behind the counter at Smooth Roots told me that the "good" pre-rolls start out at $5. I will never forget that guy. I will also never be back to Smooth Roots. Meh. It’s a dispensary. 😊 I stopped in and found a lot of the usual products but nothing spectacular. Not a fun store at all. Employee was just “there”. Not friendly, couldn’t crack a smile. I paid $10 for a 1 gram pre-roll at 31% harvested in august of last year- So, just about a year old. Not infused, just straight, one year old shake. It’s a pretty shop but none of the products stand out, the massive wooden display cases are beautiful but don’t do anything visually for the customer upon entering; they seem to conceal most of the product from view. You can look down into the cases but it’s not very inspiring. What they have available for sale isn’t really visually displayed so you have to know exactly what you want and then ask them if they have anything that meets the criteria. The jars of pre-rolls are labeled by hand with fluorescent markers. It’s just not visually helpful. I didn’t love it. It’s not my favorite kind of store but it will do in a bind. If you are visually impaired, you’ll probably have a hard time reading their labels from the other side of the massive counters. It’s not very visually impaired friendly. – Me Plus a Million
I need to stop pretending like all bud tenders know what they are talking about. First time at this location; I have also been to Lincoln City and McMinnville locations. Came in today looking for non-infused blunts. Bud tender pointed to row on bottom shelf. I confirmed with him that they were all blunts. Bought two ($9 each after med discount) and left. Just got home. Pulled on “blunt” out to find it is a joint, not a blunt. Very disappointed, especially after having great experiences at other two locations. ****EDIT**** Reply to owner: thanks for showing you care. I went back in and Reese was very helpful, and he showed me that Smooth Roots really cares about their customers. Changed rating to 5/5. Thanks again. – Knock Out
They're a decent dispensary with always nice and kind staff. I'm new to the West Side and maybe they do things differently over here but they seem pretty spendy to me. Same pack of pre rools that I get for $16 on the East side is over $20 over there, their cheapest ounce is almost twice what I can get other places and the weed isn't any better. – Maya R
