I’m extremely disappointed with the service I just received from (what I believe to be) the manager at this Starbuds location — a tall woman with blonde hair. I was sold a vape pen that did not work. When I returned to exchange it, I was not allowed to demonstrate that it was defective. The staff refused to test it, despite the fact that other Starbuds locations do require testing, which I’ve always appreciated. Instead of allowing me to keep the nonfunctional pen so I could at least attempt to drain the remaining product, I was told it would be “confiscated and destroyed.” When I asked to retain it, I was informed that I’d have to repurchase the defective item — which makes absolutely no sense. This practice feels wasteful, frustrating, and inconsistent with the standards I’ve come to expect from Starbuds. To make matters worse, the manager’s demeanor was unnecessarily rude and condescending. She questioned the validity of my return, despite my willingness and ability to provide proof. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and have only ever had to exchange a pen a handful of times out of the thousands I’ve purchased. This experience was disappointing, unprofessional, and enough to make me reconsider shopping at this location again. – Madison Conley
