This has quickly become one of my go-to spots in Santa Cruz County. Located on 41st Ave. between HWY 1 and Soquel, this spot is tucked behind Cafe Cruz, and next door to Discretion Brewing! There seems to be plenty of parking between the designated spots, and other open spaces nearby. You check-in at a little window outside before going in. The first lobby room has a lot of glass and other accessories, as well as promotional items and signage. After walking through, you hit the goodie room. The area is small, but packed with quality products! They have everything from edibles, to vapes, flower, concentrate, beverages, and more! One of the things that keeps me coming back are the deals and prices! They constantly run specials for specific, and even all brands! Not only are the prices low, the listed prices are usually AFTER tax. This is always preferred as to know the "out the door" price when calculating how much you can buy with how much cash you have or is within your budget. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the industry. They are generally patient, will answer questions, and help find the right products for you. Special shouts-out to Melody, Travis, and Caro! I grew up in Santa Cruz and now live up closer to San Francisco, however this is still the only place I come. This place has become my new regular spot since PR Farms closed down. I was not expecting any other place to match their prices and selection so I was pleased when I first went there. I like that I can go in and see the "out the door" price listed clearly on the items. I really don't like it when I can't add it up myself and they add in taxes I'm not expecting. There's also a lot of items that I like and are within my price range. Like if I want an edible and a preroll and a cartridge and I only have $20, I will for sure walk out with 2 out of 3 in excellent quality. I liked PR Farms bc everyone knew me there and there was no awkward feelings. I like this spot but only 1 budtender has really been able to give me that personal and friendly feeling I got at PR Farms, however my friend says it's bc "You look like an undercover" so take that as you will. Also I don't think they have a rewards system, at PR Farms I got basically-free stuff bc I spent a certain amount of money there in a certain time. No one has brought up points or rewards since I've been going there, Also I have not asked so take that as you will. It doesn't look like they sell plants, all the shelf space is already taken up by other products. Maybe they sell plants if you ask for them specifically?Not sure. One thing I would improve about this place would be how they direct and quardinate their customers. They have lil space outside for waiting customers, but I've only seen them have customers wait inside and it gets very full very quickly, and sometimes 1 customer take up all the attention of the budtenders. Another thing that I would change is the displays. They have a very small space to work with and they put a lot of stuff out. Sometimes they have to put things on the shelf in such a way that you can't look at the back of the package if you wanted to. This is a problem bc sometimes the concentration/strain/genetics is not on the front of the package. I could ask the budtenders about this bc they have all the packages behind the counter but I have a feeling that would take longer than being able to see the back of the package on our side of the counter. Before PR Farms, I went to THC in Soquel until it changed ownership. Before that I went to Tree House until they raised their drive thru prices. Before that I went to Kind Peoples until they upscaled. That's my basic history but I've been to many places. Ppl always say "Oh CannaCruz has the best prices" and before that "Oh Chai has the best prices" and so on but I think ppl are basing their choices on what their friends buy mostly. I'm always looking at concentrations and prices. – RL
I really like this little shop.They have a pretty good variety and very decent prices. The employees are kinda trippy. Three times in a row, i've gone.I've gotten weird vibes from them. Like they dislike being there or something. – Luke Murdock
Super helpful, well stocked and excellent competitive prices. They have everything you need. I've been to Many local dispensaries, and this is my favorite. Parking can be dicey when Cafe Cruz is at high capacity, unfortunately. Rock on Surf City. – J Santa Cruz
