I just walked in after turning 21 two days ago with my partner who has been going to Apex since she turned 21 in March. Nobody ever made her uncomfortable or questioned her identification, upon providing various ID (drivers license, passport card, etc.) Various friends have entered and purchased with a vertical ID days after their 21st birthday. I wasn’t trying to purchase, I was just there with my partner trying to verify that I am in fact 21 so I didn’t get removed from the building. The guy seemed new, my partner didn’t recognize him, and he said he doesn’t accept vertical IDs (totally understand), but when I said I have a photo copy of my passport if that helps with me simply just being allowed to stand in there and not purchase anything (which I made very clear twice I wasn’t purchasing anything). He started asking coworkers if they accept pictures of identification, I never asked him to accept “pictures,” so I left. Won’t be returning. Neither will my partner. – olivia lawson
