As an Iranian living in Western Massachusetts, I know what it feels like to be the outsider in a room. What I love most about Balagan is that it’s one of the most genuinely welcoming places in Northampton. Everyone is treated like they belong. The coffee is excellent, the staff are always kind and upbeat, and the atmosphere is warm without trying too hard. Whether I’m grabbing a quick coffee, sandwich, or just hanging out for a while, I always feel glad I stopped in. It’s just a great coffee shop run by great people. Highly recommend. – Mehdi Rahmani

I had a really pleasant experience at Balagan. The space itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, and the staff were genuinely kind and welcoming. The budtender I worked with was knowledgeable and made a solid recommendation. In hindsight, I probably should have gone with what she suggested, but the nostalgia pull of Blue Dream in that pink packaging definitely got me. The flower I picked up was a bit drier and older than I would have preferred, especially at the price point, but I also expected a premium given the boutique feel and location. There was a small issue setting up my points but prob because I had done it ahead of time and it was a first visit. No stress and they made sure to note for next time. I appreciated the care. Overall, great service, interesting selection, and a really lovely environment. I would love to see some fresher inventory, but I still enjoyed the experience and appreciated how warm and knowledgeable the staff were – Remi
