Important for Disabled Customers. I’ve been a customer in the past, but I wanted to share what happened with their service animal policy because it affects other disabled people who rely on service dogs. Years ago, my service dog and I were shopping there. Staff claimed my dog had an accident in the store. They told me this was a “second warning” (which was not true — it was the first incident they mentioned) and permanently banned me from the store. Even if a service animal has an accident, that alone is not enough to permanently ban a disabled person. Under the ADA, the business may ask the handler to remove the animal if it is not housebroken, but the disabled individual must still be allowed to access the store without the animal. A permanent ban on the person goes far beyond what the law allows. Today, I returned thinking the business might have new ownership or management. I showed my ID like any customer. After checking their notes, the manager told me I am still banned — this time claiming it was for “defamation.” I have never defamed the business. I simply described what actually happened with my service dog and how the situation was handled. Telling the truth about a customer experience is not defamation.I am now filing a complaint under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III because:Service dogs must be allowed in places of public accommodation unless the dog is out of control or not housebroken. Now this becomes a bigger matter! A permanent ban based on a disputed single incident, followed by retaliation for complaining, violates federal disability rights protections. Using a “defamation” label to justify excluding a disabled person exercising their rights appears to be pretext for disability discrimination. I am pursuing this through the proper legal channels (Yolo County/State/Federal) actions so other people with disabilities aren’t denied access the same way.If you use a service animal, please know your rights under the ADA. Businesses can only ask the two permitted questions and cannot impose blanket bans without legitimate justification. I’ll update if anything changes. Hoping this helps raise awareness. – Fear No Evil
Great family run store. I'm always welcomed with a smile and they have great deals. – KRCali
Off the beaten path, but a nice place with knowledgeable sales persons – Tammy Davidson
She is collectives first open. They were awesome especially the old owners now sometimes they’re kind of rude. They argue with you and For ordering online, you get a 25% discount like F St. Now there’s no discount !!now their prices are absolutely OUTRAGEOUS I don’t go there often unless I’m looking for something it’s not my first choice anymore!! For example, buy something that’s $10 When you get to the store, it’s going to be $20 and then they tell you that it’s tax there’s no such thing as 15 doller tax ? or anything You buy an item for $25. When you get To the store it’s going to be $37. $13 in Taxes, My personal opinion, is that Basically ripping us off They’re not, but it seems a little !! I go to F St. all the time and yes they have taxes but not $13 ?? You buy something 60 when you get to the store it’s going to be $85 so something is going on. I don’t know walked out and went to another store and I make my choice if I’m just looking for something. !!! In particular . OR A TAD BIT RUDE !! Every place that you shop in the world everybody has a bad day. You might get bad customer service that’s anywhere, but it happens more often there. !!! So don’t go there unless there’s something really want and buy that one thing and we don’t buy anything else then go to the other store the other Reasonable The other store is just around the corner and that’s what I do. I make my purchases limited there!! – Tallulah Dejon
